Over two-hundred acres are dedicated to outdoor recreation facilities at neighborhood and community parks surrounding the beaches. The playgrounds, picnic areas, saltwater fishing pier, freshwater youth fishing lake, greenways and trails are open to the public year round. The Community Center and Senior Center host special events, civic club meetings, and two variety of classes for all ages.

Aquatic Center

To complement the existing facilities of Frank Brown Park an Aquatic Center opened in 2006. The facility will be utilized for national as well as international competitive swimming, diving, water polo and synchronized swimming, with a competitive swimming pool, heated pool, and children's water play area. Frank Brown Park also serves as the trailhead for the greenways and trails system and has paved trails through the Park and on to Gayle's Trails. Under the Palms Playground joins a covered picnic shelter that will accommodate over 100 people and is an ideal place for children's play or birthday parties. Scattered throughout the Park and trailhead are over a dozen other smaller picnic areas. A lighted 30 acre festival area is home of the Gulf Coast Charity Horse Show, Indian Summer Festival, and numerous other events.

Well known soccer, softball, baseball, lacrosse and fast pitch associations hold events in Panama City Beach's Frank Brown Park. Cheerleading and gymnastics camps and competitions are also a part of the sporting venue.
