Blues Festival Raises Money for PCB Chamber Education Fund

On Wednesday, September 10, 2014, Pineapple Willy’s presented the Panama City Beach Chamber of Commerce with an $800 check to benefit its Education Fund. The inaugural Great American Blues Festival held back in August was the brilliant event that raised the money to support several 501(c)(3) charities in Panama City Beach.

The Great American Blues Festival took place August 16-17, 2014, at Aaron Bessant Park (Pier Park) in Panama City Beach, FL. Featuring some of the top Blues acts in the Nation, The Great American Blues Festival set the bar high and threw everything in to make a big impact for our community. The Great American Blues Festival was created to benefit 501(c)(3) charities in Bay County aimed at helping our community and children. At the same time, they also produced a quality festival that brought people to our beach from all over the Southeastern United States.

The Beach Chamber’s Education Fund is used for two annual scholarships to local colleges. Gulf Coast State College and Florida State University Panama City each receive checks to help two students pay for their education. The Beach Chamber’s Education Partnership Committee coordinates fundraisers for the Education Fund and also organizes events to assist the Bay District School System.
