Visit Panama City Beach is proud to announce a new addition coming to Pier Park: the Celebration Tower. Built for year-round events and making its debut at the annual New Year’s Eve Beach Ball Drop, the tower will stand 80 feet tall and include a LED-lit globe at the top that can be decorated to synch with events throughout the year.
“The Celebration Tower is going to be a Panama City Beach icon,” says President and CEO of Visit Panama City Beach Dan Rowe. “It will add to events throughout the year, and we are especially looking forward to watching the new globe count us down to 2017 at the New Year’s Eve Beach Ball Drop this December.”
Designed by G.S. Preble Engineering, the stainless steel structure was fabricated at Quality Plus Services’ Bayou George shop. The LED-lit globe portion of the tower, spanning 9.5 feet in diameter, was designed by ID3, an Atlanta-based company that has worked with several high-profile clients in the Southeast, including Six Flags over Georgia.
