    Information Specialist
    General Information:
    1. This position is to support FDOT public information projects
    2. No healthcare or retirement benefits
    3. Part-time hours from 8:00 am – 4:00 pm, estimate 25-30 hours weekly
    4. Homebased position
    5. Position reports to Carpe Diem Community Solutions (CDCS) president, Lynn Cherry
    Duties:
    1. Serve as project manager for FDOT PD&E and Design projects:
    1. Prepare Public Information or Community Awareness Plans
    2. Provide logistics leadership for product development and execution i.e. newspaper ads, press releases, handouts, letters, web page, and welcome boards.
    3. Provide after the public meeting services such as reporting attendance, comments, and pictures. Prepare response letters to comments.
    4. Prepare Phase notification letters.
    5. Prepare email and property owner list.
    6. Support stakeholder presentations and disadvantaged populations participation.
    2. Support bid process i.e. quotes and selecting public meeting location.
    3. Maintain project public involvement log.
    4. Keep CDCS President updated with project progress and attend regular meetings with CDCS President.
    5. Comply with CDCS and FDOT approval process.
    6. Maintain daily project time log and create monthly accomplishments report on a per project basis.
    7. Attend FDOT project meetings.
    8. Strong organizational and grammar skills are a must.
    9. Handle CDCS president emails and phone calls when she is unable.
    10. Maintain up-to-date content on CDCS website.
    11. Other duties as assigned.
    Requirements:
    1. Proven experience as an events planner, organizer, and manager
    2. Impressive portfolio of previously managed events
    3. Excellent time management and communication skills
    4. Ability to manage multiple projects independently
    5. MS Office proficiency
    6. Willing to submit references from previous work experience/clients
    7. BS in Communications or related field, preferred but not required
