The Panama City Beach Chamber of Commerce’s Education Committee has partnered with Innovations Federal Credit Union to collaborate a project on financial literacy called MAD CITY MONEY. Gulf Coast Medical Center today announced plans to change its name to Gulf Coast Regional Medical Center.
“The addition of the word “Regional” is important as it reflects the breadth of services we will be adding and expanding with Maternal Fetal Medicine for high-risk pregnancies, Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), Telemedicine and a number of pediatric sub-specialties,” said Carlton Ulmer, president and CEO at Gulf Coast Regional Medical Center.

Pier Park Joins Effort to Collect & Recycle Cigarette Waste
Pier Park, Panama City Beach’s premier open-air shopping destination with more than 125 popular retail and dining choices, has joined a national effort to keep cigarette waste out of area landfills, waterways and off Panama City Beach streets. The center has teamed up with TerraCycle, a recycling pioneer, to participate in their Cigarette Waste Brigade® hailed as an innovative program that collects and recycles cigarette waste.

TROY Offers Community College Scholarships
Two new Troy University scholarships aim to pave the way for community college transfer students to earn a four-year degree at any TROY campus locations.
Students transferring from an Alabama Community College, or other select community colleges in the TROY service area, will be able to apply for either a merit scholarship or an achievement scholarship. This scholarship program will begin Fall 2014.
