A growing trend in Panama City Beach is the concept of Splitters - people having two primary residences. More and more visitors who discover the beauty and charm of Panama City Beach while on vacation have decided to make this their home, or second home. Another buzzword is "Attainable Housing," describing housing that is affordable to moderate-income individuals as opposed to the stigma of low-income associated with "affordable housing." Panama City Beach offers many new real estate choices under $250,000. As of March 2008 there were 700 homes with prices starting at $144,900 in Panama City Beach, with a minimum of 3 bed/2 bath, not older than 1980, and at least 1,200 square feet of heated and air conditioned living area. Numerous subdivisions all over Panama City Beach have quick and easy access to the beach, the new airport and Pier Park.
