Six Local Leaders Recognized at the Beach Chamber Awards Dinner

The Panama City Beach Chamber of Commerce’s celebratory Annual Awards Dinner was a night of recognition as it honored six of their outstanding members. On Thursday, February 27, 2020, at Edgewater Beach & Golf Resort, the event was themed “Emerald City.” The Panama City Beach Chamber of Commerce would like to thank the Presenting Sponsor Noble Public Adjusting Group; the Premier Sponsor Edgewater Beach & Golf Resort by Resort Collection; the Platinum Sponsors Emerald Coast Orthopedics, Kanner & Pintaluga, New Vantage Construction, Panama City Toyota, Royal Exteriors, Sugar Sands Insurance, Trustmark; the Photobooth Sponsor Peoples First Insurance; and the Entertainment Sponsor Community Bank.
This prestigious event recognized local leaders for their dedication and accomplishments in the community and with the Panama City Beach Chamber. These awards included the Young Professional of the Year, Chamber Ambassador of the Year, Business Excellence Award, Humanitarian of the Year Award, Community Impact Award and a dedication to the Chamber’s 2019 Past Chairwoman.
The Past Chair Award was given to 2019 Chairwoman of the Board, Karen Smith of Beachy Beach Real Estate. Her dedicated service and commitment to leading the Beach Chamber helped grow the membership to over 1200 members.
This year’s Young Professional of the Year Award went to Holly Onda of Edward Jones. Holly is a young professional who influences growth, prosperity and quality of life in our community.
This year’s Ambassador of the Year Award winner, James Johnson of Comcast. Whether it is attending ribbon cuttings or grand openings, he goes above and beyond for the Beach Chamber. He is not only a great asset to his Company and the Beach Chamber, but also equally valuable to the community.
The Bennett Family of Sharky’s Beachfront Restaurant won the Business Excellence Award for their contributions to our community and to the Beach Chamber.
Our Humanitarian of the Year award was given to The St. Joe Community Foundation, for their generosity and commitment to improving our community and the lives of others.
This year’s Community Impact Award was given to PCB Entertainment for the success of Pepsi Gulf Coast Jam and SandJam. The organization was recognized for their innovation and economic impact within our community.
